Chris Smart FRICS
Principal and founder
Chris Smart is the Sole principal of BTCS. Qualified in 1978 and Elected Associate of the RICS in 1976. Elected fellow in 1988.
Has worked at partnership level since within Surrey based practices since 1979 within multiple discipline practices.
Formed BTCS in 2002 to work alongside sales offices of Boyce Thornton Estate Agents.
Chris has over 40 years’ experience within the immediate vicinity of Oxshott, including Cobham, Walton on Thames, the Moleseys and all areas of Surrey, South and West London. His work frequently takes him into London, north west and west London and instructions have extended as far as Salisbury, Littlehampton, Dartford, Bristol, Birmingham and Warrington.
He has in depth experience in a wide range of commercial leases including renewals and rent reviews, valuation of offices, shop, warehouse and industrial properties and surveys. Has recently advised upon and received planning consents for 6 an 8 house schemes in Surbiton and Chessington and the taking of a lease of a 60,000 sq.ft warehouse in Amesbury.
A specialism has involved valuation advice upon restrictive covenants.
Education
Chris attended Wallington High School until 1970 before attending the then Polytechnic of the South Bank through to 1976 during which time he was employed by the GLC’s Valuation and Estate Department.
Since he has regularly attended CPD courses covering many property issues.
